The Undergraduate Research Center (URC) is committed to confronting racism and institutional oppression to create an equitable and inclusive community for students, staff, and faculty. We honor and recognize that research, scholarship and creative activities are enhanced by contributions from individuals with various backgrounds, perspectives and experiences. With reflective care, we work to address inequities, biased systems and practices. The URC is dedicated to increasing visibility of diverse undergraduate researchers, promoting inclusive mentoring, expanding access to undergraduate research opportunities and financial support, increasing outreach and recruitment efforts and creating new student-centered programs, while strengthening partnerships with campus departments and organizations fostering similar goals.
