Three words to describe me: Motivated, Busy, Blessed

What are your future plans and/or goals?

My plan is to continue being a researcher by pursuing a PhD.

In what ways has engaging in undergraduate research impacted your future goals and plans?

Undergraduate research has given me insight and experience into what research actually is. It also helped me prepare to my goal of going to graduate school.

What contribution(s) will your research make to your field of study?

Using NMR to measure photoacidity can help us better understand photoacids. Learning about these can help chemists utilize photoacids to make reactions more efficient.

What preparation and research experience did you have before applying to your research program?

In Community College I was an assistant at the Organic Chemistry Lab.

Personal achievements/accomplishments or other news and information:

First one of my family going to graduate school in the fall 2021!

What advice do you have for other undergraduate students seeking research experiences?

Talk with people whose research you are interested in.

Emmanuel has to say about the MURPPS program:

"In CAMP/MURPPS I learned how many diverse research can be"

What else would you like us to know about you?

I am the middle child of three, but I am referred to as "the baby" My first job was picking raspberries for Driscoll's in Watsonville with my babysitter.
