Please join us in celebrating and promoting Undergraduate Research Week
The Undergraduate Research Center’s week long celebration of undergraduate research will take place this fall from October 10-14, 2016, with the focus on captivating new and returning students to dive into research early in their academic careers.
Shields Library will host a poster display of undergraduate research on the first floor. The School of Veterinary Medicine will host a full day of events featuring research activities and an undergraduate research symposium, and the Undergraduate Research Center will present workshops and seminars in the Student Community Center.
This event features activities offered by departments, Colleges, clubs, and student organizations designed to highlight undergraduate research performed in their unit or by their students. That’s where you come in.
I would like to invite your unit/department/College to participate. The type of activity and scheduling is entirely up to you. Some ideas include poster sessions, talk series (presented by UG researchers or faculty interested to work with UG researchers), a research “faire” for students to connect with potential mentors, lab tours, exhibits-- be creative!
Some highlights from last year:
- Shields Library Poster Displays
- School of Veterinary Medicine Research Symposium
- Biomedical Engineering Society Research Expo
- College of Biological Sciences Lab and Research Faire
- Undergraduate Research Center hosted daily student-given seminars regarding research programs
- Math & Physical Sciences-hosted Undergraduate Research Night
Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org to let me know what you have planned and I will include your event in our published schedule for the week.
Thank you for supporting undergraduate research!
